Cranberry Sauce

with Apple and Brandy

A Christmas classic, this homemade cranberry sauce with apple and brandy adds festive flair to poultry served on the big day


  • 275g fresh cranberries
  • 1 large cooking apple, peeled, cored and diced
  • 200ml apple juice
  • 4 tablespoons brandy
  • sugar to taste, if desired


  1. Place the cranberries, diced apple, and apple juice in a solid container and place in a Miele Steam Oven. Cover with foil. Cook for 10 minutes at 100ºC to tenderise the cranberries and apples.

  2. Add the brandy, and sugar to taste, cover and steam for a further 4 minutes. Serve immediately if required hot, or else allow to cool. Store in a sterilised jar in the fridge for several days or freeze until required.
