Steamed Turkey Legs

Ideal for using up any leftover Christmas turkey legs, using our Steam Oven ensures the meat is tender and cooked to perfection. To complete the dish, searing the cooked turkey legs on the hob gives the skin a delicious, caramelised flavour.

Ingredients

  • 2 turkey legs, boned
  • 350-400g stuffing
  • Butcher’s string

Method

  1. Open up the turkey legs and place the stuffing down the centre. Roll the leg up from the longest side and tie up with butcher’s string.

  2. Transfer to a perforated steam container and place on the lowest shelf in the steam oven. Steam at 100°C for 30-35mintues.

  3. When finished cooking, remove the legs from the steam oven and rub with vegetable oil, salt and pepper. Preheat a frying pan to a medium to high heat. Transfer the turkey legs to the preheated frying pan and caramelise the outside of the turkey. Transfer to a board, cover with tin foil and allow to rest before slicing. Keep the juices that are in the drip tray of the oven for making gravy.
